Unable to Connect when changing dataset
Update
So we figured out that we can't use two different domains, and switch dataset between thoose. Even though the model is identical.
So had to do a workaround and re-create all reports with new dataset source
---
Issue:
We have created & published reports to a dataset that is connected to one server, let's call it A.
We have then published a new dataset connection with a gateway to another server in Power BI Services, let's call it B.
We would like to change the A dataset in Power BI desktop to the B dataset, however the issue we get is as following.
Shouldn't we be able to change datasets, if we have a dev & production environment on different servers?
The analysis service name is correct, really hard to troubleshoot this error. Anyone else encountered the same?

Madeleine , this error is because connection details are not correct. Where you bale to connect of power bi desktop using same details

I don't have any issues connecting otherwhise. I can create a new report to that dataset, but have issues when I want to change a reports dataset to this new one.

Hi Madeleine ,
What data source is using in your report? How did you change the dataset from A to B? Is the report works or not in Power BI Desktop after the dataset be changed? According to your description, it seems that you want to switch the data source in DEV to PROD environment. If this is the case, you can refer the content in the following blogs to get it.
