I am mapping where properties are using its postcode in Map functionality in Power BI. The postcodes I were using were all working perfectly last week but now only a few of them are being mapped. I am using a full postcode eg. CM24 1RL. Despite making no changes to the data when I refreshed the report most of the postcodes were not being mapped. I have tried concatenating the postcode and the country but then the postcodes that were mapping are not mapping at all. I have also tried converting the data category of the colum to "Postal Code" and that hasn't made a difference.
Please Help 🙂
Hi @zzzz_Worker ,
Based on your description, first of all, even though you mentioned that no data was changed when you refreshed the report, it's worth noting that there may be spaces for placeholders before and after the data. This can lead to inconsistent formatting of the coding. Ensure that the data in the Zip Code column is formatted consistently and correctly.Power BI relies on Bing Maps for geocoding, and sometimes even minor inconsistencies in the data can cause issues. After verifying the data format, try refreshing the data source and the Power BI report.
Second, if specific zip codes are still causing issues, consider using latitude and longitude coordinates for those locations. This method bypasses the geocoding process and provides more accurate mapping. You can find latitude and longitude data for UK zip codes through various online services.
