Two way sync between PowerBI Desktop and VSCode?
Hi,
I found myself in a situation where I need to quickly rename multiple variables and column names in power query.
I am using the new *.pbip format and I can open the files in VSCode locally.
I want to do the rename operation in VSCode because it allows me to rename more securely, effectively and fast.
Now my question is, is there a way that my changes in VSCode is sync back to the Opened pbip file with PowerBI Desktop?
Closing and opening the file breaks the workflow.

As far as I know, Power BI temporarily does not support direct synchronization of the VSCode data source after the change of the column name, if you change the column name in the data source, power bi is still in accordance with the old column name to get the data in the data source, the match can not match the new column name may appear an error message "The column ' columnname' of the table wasn't found".
So when the data model changes, we can go to Power Query to manually refresh it.

Or click on Advanced Editor and find the relevant column name to replace it.
