Two related tables, one shows zero when other's value is zero even though it shouldn't

Hi all,

i have two tables budget and actuals. when actual amount is zero for something (cell phone expense for example). the budget amount for it also shows as zero even though there is a budget for cell phone expense.

The cellphone budget should be 139.72 but in my power bi visual it shows as zero. Same goes for Flowers expense.

I have confirmed the table budget does have the right information, I just can't get it to display it. Any help would be appreciated?

@sam888 do you have a comment table that is linked with both budget and the actual table? How does your data model look like?

I know it's been a while, but I never worked on that project again however working on a similar one and facing same problem.

 

I know for a fact there is some Total ytd amount in our books but since "sum of gl_amount" is zero, the total YTD also shows zero. below are screenshots:
