Two people opening PBI file at same time

Has any been able to resolve this problem: I sometimes go to save a Power BI file but cannot as someone else is already in the file.  Fair enough, but why could I open the file in the first place?  It's really quite annoying and isn't a problem with other MS applications like Excel and Word.  Is there a setting that needs to be changed to block files from being opened if someone else is already in it?  Or is this something that my organization's IT dept needs to fix?  Thanks.

@KevinGraham,

An idea has been submitted for this feature. This is basic functionality, so hopefully it will be implemented soon. I'd be interested to hear how dev teams handle this limitation.

@KevinGraham , As of now there is no CI/CD process available with power bi to lock the file.

You can check if you can merge changes from two users using ALM toolkit
