Hi, am wondering if there is any way how I could avoid my users entering into Report view once clicking on a pinned visual? I know this is possible if I Pin a whole page, however, would like to have more flexibility in moving my visuals within a larger space and at the same time avoid the background report view.
Thanks, Atanas
Hi Atanas - you simply edit the target url to be blank for the pinned visuals in question.
You can also repoint it to a different report by inserting the target report url - or send them to a completely different site.
Hi @PowerDAX, thanks for responding, however, I am struggling to understand your suggestion. Once I enter the Tile Details, I do not see any URLs attached, as by default, however, I simply would like to lock the visuals and not enter any reports or background data. I cannot leave the custom link URL blank since its an obligatory field, and if I uncheck the box, it stays the same feature, directing me to the report.
Could you please clear this for me?
Atanas
sorry - forgot that it was mandatory - the workaround for that is to enter the url of the dashboard itself - i.e. https://app.powerbi.com/featureddashboard
Hi @PowerDAX, I see it's a good idea, however, I would not want my users to be constantly refreshing the page and starting over with their filtering.
Thanks anyway. Atanas
It will not truly refresh if you add the # after the url (as long as redirecting to the same dashboard you are currently on)...i.e. https://app.powerbi.com/featureddashboard#
Hi @PowerDAX,
have tried it, however, it is still refreshing the webpage. Is there an internal url which simply brings the page up?
Hi t-atgeor,
I don't know of a way to strictly disable the drill down to the report view online from the dashboard.
But another suggestion if the data is sensitve is maybe enforcing RLS?
