Trying to create calculated column but gives me error.

Hi,

I am trying to create a calculated column out of a measure. However, it gives me errors. Can you please help? My goal is to get that measure (% Average Inv/STU) to be filtered to only 2023 or Dec2023 data. I need to do it like that to use it in another multiplication measure later. Hope you can help.

Hi @Nonzy - You can create a calculated column  as follows:

Is2023OrDec2023 = IF(
YEAR([Report Date]) = 2023 || (YEAR([Report Date]) = 2023 && MONTH([Report Date]) = 12),
1,
0
)

Ensure the Ensure % Average Inv/STU Measure Exists:

% Average Inv/STU =
DIVIDE(
SUM('YourTable'[Inventory]),
SUM('YourTable'[Students]),
0
)

create a filtered measure as follows and apply it.

% Average Inv/STU Filtered =
CALCULATE(
[% Average Inv/STU],
FILTER(
'YourTable',
'YourTable'[Is2023OrDec2023] = 1
)
)

Apply in your visual filtered Measure in a New Calculation

YourFinalMeasure = [% Average Inv/STU Filtered] * [Another Measure]

Hope it works ,

Try and let know.

@rajendraongole1 , thanks for your reply. I tried creating first column but it didn't work. it should show 1 on Dec 2023 correct? Doesn't do that. Can you help?

@rajendraongole1 , okay so apparently had something wrong with my table. Fixed that now. but I still do not get the desired answer. if you look at below screenshot, I can see filtered measure only applies % for Dec23 , Jan 24 & Feb 24 and it is not the same % as Dec23. Dec23 was 32.68% while I can see 33.57% on the 3 months. Can you guide me on that ?
