Hi, I am hoping someone has had this problem and can help with a solution
One of my Power BI users is trying to import data from a 'macro enabled' Excel file (.xlsm) and Power BI does not see the file as a valid Excel file.
This article https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-get-data on Microsoft's web site says that .xlsm files are valid for Power BI to import data from but I'm having no success.
We are using Office 2013 and I am wondering if this will only work with Excel 2016 and higher?
Below is the error I am getting.
Anyone have any ideas on what's going wrong and how to fix?

Thank you so much, the active hyperlinks were the problem!
I just selected all cells, right clicked, removed all hyperlinks, saved the file and then Power BI could read the data 🙂
p.s. Microsoft Power BI team, I think this needs to be fixed. Power BI happily reads web pages and they contain hyperlinks. Maybe allow an option to ignore hyperlinks in Excel files.
