I have just started using the bookmarks feature to create buttons which you can click on to hide or show charts. However, in order for this to work, one must hold Ctrl while clicking on the image which the bookmark is linked to. Is there any way to make it so that the user can trigger the bookmark by clicking on the image without holding Ctrl?

You only need to click control because you're editing in the desktop file. When you publish to Power BI service, all bookmarks / buttons will work without clicking control.
