Hey, So I have this open data source which I'm using to import data to power BI desktop, now the open source data happens to be in dutch, but I need to create all my report and visualizations in English ( and more importantly to understand the data correctly, lol). Is there way to import the data directly in English from the data source? or a google/microsoft plugin in power bi that translates it to English? would really really appreciate any help!!! Thank you!!
Hi @Anonymous ,
Currently, Power BI is impossible to help you complete the translation work automatically, so you need to manually translate your original data into English, and then import it into Power BI.
But your idea sounds good, you can submit an idea .

@Anonymous ,
One thing you can do is to change the Regional Setting of PBI Desktop file by going File Menu --> Option and Setting --> Global --> Regional Setting to English

Yeah that doesn't work
@Anonymous ,
There is one more approach suggested by Amy is:
You can copy and paste this column into excel, translate this column to English language using google translate tool separately ,then import the this two columns into Power BI Desktop to create new table using "Enter Data" option under Home ribbon, let's call the new created table Table1. Then you can create relationship between the original table and this new created table Table1 on original column. Once you need to use the translated column, you can use RELATED function.

There is no automatic translate option in Power BI that i know of.
What is your data source? we might know a way to get it to english. And btw, you want to translate the data or just the headers?
Hey Eric, Here is the data source. There is an english version of the website but it doesn't contain all the datasets, google translate is a great help but obviously doesn't work in the desktop application.
Need to translate the entire data.
