Transforming Financial Data to achieve model requirements

Hi There, 

 

I have a set of financial data in excel which consist of information for each period for the different profit centres in columns instead of rows. Each period consist of a breakdown of REV, RAW MAT COST and etc.... The visual that i wish to build is to have the period on comparison in a stacked column chart (while the stack columns captures the breakdown for each period). 

 

I have tried to pivot the columns but it only captures one breakdown of 1 period (eg: REV P01). 

 

Could anyone advise if there is any other way to transform this data to capture the periods and breakdown in a column?

    Hi,

    Share the download link of the MS Excel file.  The data will have to be transformed to make it amenable to slicing/dicing/analysis.

      Thanks for the reply! May i check the transformation of this data can be done in Power BI or it has to be done in Excel?
