Transforming Dynamics365 data

Hi all,

 

I've managed to connect my dataset to Microsoft Dynamics365 and import the tables I need but I am having trouble transforming them in 'Transform Data'.

 

The tables are loading a lot of fields and some ¿connections? to other tables. I only need a handfuld of fields so I am removing the other ones and changing names of the remaining before loading data. However, when loaded, the column names are still the original ones and some fields 'disappear' (I see them in the transform data but not for building visuals).

 

Can anyone recommend which actions to take?

    Hi Anonymous -  check on the transformations are applied correctly and that the data is usable for building visuals. you can chosse the required columns remaining "Remove Columns." using transformations.In the Power Query Editor, double-click on the column header to rename it.Alternatively, right-click on the column header and choose "Rename."After performing the necessary transformations (removing and renaming columns), click "Close & Apply" in the Power Query Editor.Ensure that the transformations are correctly applied and reflected in the Data view.

    If some fields are still not showing up or are not correctly transformed, go back to the Power Query Editor and check the applied steps.

    Sometimes, relationships might need to be manually adjusted to reflect the correct connections between tables.

     

    Hopefully, by following these steps should help you in transforming and preparing your data from Microsoft Dynamics 365 in Power BI.
