TopN and others issues

Greetings,

I wanted to ask for some help with creating topn and others. I have been watching and trying to implement via the following tutorial (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGFcCbXn_g0&t=1439s) a topn and others solution to my sales data.

  • I was able to create the pseudo table with an "others" category per the video's guidance
  • I have sales as a Numeric Field called "Total" in my imported data. Given when creating a new measure I cannot use Total in the next steps, I created a new measure where: Total_Sales = SUM (Table1[Total])
  • I then created another measure per the video that would do the topn filtering but the function does not end up working in filtering the sum of the top 3 names, instead it returns a total sum of the entire dataset  ....
    TOP N Sum Sales =
    CALCULATE(
        [Total_Sales],
        TOPN(
            3,
            'Pseudo_Rep_Table',
            [Total_Sales]
        )
    )

    Is there something that I missed or did I make a mistake?

    Thank you for any suggestions!

Should Table1, that's where you applied your SUM
