Top N categories in table
Hi everyone,
i'm trying to get a table show the top 3 categories together with the corresponding value sum for the category.
I tried showing the category as well as value in the table and using the top n filter by the field value - but this obviously only returnes the top 3 values and their corresponding categories, not the other way around.
i also tried a quick measure "total for category (filters not applied)" set the base value to "sum of value" and the category to "category" and it returns some data but definitely not the sum of values per category.
Any ideas?Thank you!

Anonymous , Can you share sample data and sample output in table format? Or a sample pbix after removing sensitive data.

cat 1 - sum of value of cat 1
cat 2 - sum of value of cat 2
cat 3 - sum of value of cat 3
I already got the full list (not top 3, but all). But now if i filter the top three by value, i only get back the three biggest values and their corresponding categories, not the three biggest category sums.
