Tooltips info in table visual

I have a table created in power BI desktop which has only the flags values but I want to get a tooltip when hovered on the values.

Ex: If I hover on spec flag (Low) it should show tooltip as No or less than 2 KQI targets missed , if I hover on AC flag High it should populate the corresponding flag value as tooltip .How to achieve it

Hi Harika05,

Thank you for the follow up.

Based on my understanding, Power BI’s report page tooltips are associated with fields and report pages and derive their context from the data point over which you hover. However, the native Table visual highlights the entire row on hover, so Power BI cannot reliably determine which specific column or cell the cursor is positioned over. For this reason, it might not be possible to attach distinct tooltips to different columns within a single Table visual in a straightforward manner.

Kindly consider the following workarounds which may help resolve the issue:
1. Create a separate single column Table visual for each Flag (containing only that column), position them adjacent to one another, and format borders and headers so they appear as a single table. Assign a specific tooltip page to each one column visual. This approach works best when layout alignment is acceptable.

2. Place all reason fields on a single tooltip page. This will display all reasons for the selected row. This is the simplest solution, but the user will see every reason rather than only the hovered one.

3. Use Matrix visual. The Matrix visual highlights a single cell on hover and therefore supports column level tooltip scenarios.

Thankyou, @amitchandak for your response.

Hi Harika05,

We appreciate your question on the Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.

Based on my understanding, we created two tooltip pages, one for Spec Flags and one for AC Flags. On each tooltip page, we placed the respective Flag column in the Tooltips bucket and created a simple measure. We then created two table visuals, one showing Spec Flags and the other showing AC Flags, and mapped each table visual to its corresponding tooltip page. When hovering over the Spec Flags column, the tooltip displays the correct Spec Flag Reason and when hovering over the AC Flags column, the tooltip displays the correct AC Flag Reason.

Please find attached the screenshots and a sample PBIX file that may assist in resolving the matter:

2. On Tooltip page:

Thanks for the solution, but my requirement is I want to have all flags in a single table visual in frontend and when I hover on particular cell it should show the corresponding tooltip.
