Hi there - For some reason my tooltip shows me the data labels for all my lines , not just the line I am hovering over. Any idea how to solve?
You are thinking in the wrong dimension. The line chart tooltip shows for the point on the x axis you're hovering over, not for the specific line.
Ok so what is the best solution for when there aare multiple lines on a chart and the user would like to know which line is which beyond trying to match up the colors to the legend? Clicking data labels On has the same issue - it presents the values not the name of the line as shown in the legend.
I'm not sure I understand. If your chart has so many lines that you can't tell which is which, a line chart is probably just not the appropriate visual for whatever data you're trying to analyze.
So I have a line chart where each line is a company and the x-axis is over time. So you can see how companies are performing over time. Based on the slicers the user may select between 1 to 30 companies.
The lines may bunch together or one line may swing up over time before going down again. It's these outliers the user is interested in.
So they would hover over a line that appears to be bucking the trend on that month and wanting to know which company it was. They are currently faced with a list of all companies currently in the chart and have to resort to matching up the color in the legend to the color of the line.
Hope that helps explain it better.
Hi
any solution to this issue. I am getting multiple tooltips on hover. Please check the BI attached.
Requirement is to have tooltip per Label.

I'm not sure why but tooltip is showing me all the labels in my chart not just for the line that I hover over. Anyone know why?
