Is it possible to add an tooltip or hover over a column of a table?

Yes. Default Tooltips and custom Tooltip pages can be created and used for this.
With your table visualization selected, go to the Format visual pane, turn on Tooltips, then select Default, or the Tooltip page that you created to be used instead.
