Hi Power BI Team - We're anticipating to observe the metrics (usage) within a PowerBI report. That is why we used the 'Power BI User Activity Tracker' visual (is a custom visual component designed to help us analyze how users interact with reports published in Power BI Online), which was obtained from the Microsoft Store. Is there another way to determine usage within a Power BI report? Thank you.
Hi @TahmidBari ,
What Ritaf1983 and vicky_ said makes a lot of sense.
I have one here that has other ways to look at usage in Power BI reports.
You can view this through the Admin portal in Power BI, however, this approach assumes that you are a global administrator or Power BI administrator.
The Power BI Admin Portal provides an overview of the usage and distribution of reports and datasets across the organization.
You can view your organization is Power BI usage through Usage metrics.
It also shows which users and groups in the organization are most active in Power BI.
With this information, you can really see how people are using Power BI across the organization.

Thank you for your note. We are not seeking for a broad usage report for Power Bi services. To be more explicit, we want to see utilization within a report. For example, a user will use a first and last name filter to search within a report. We want to know how many users are searching for first and last names in that report as they browse it. Thank you.
Hi @Ritaf1983
Thank you for your note. We are actually trying to see the use within a report. For instance, there will be a first and last name filter that a user will utilize to search within a report. We want to know how many users are searching for first and last names in that report. 'Power BI User Activity Tracker' is one of the visuals for finding usage within a report, however it would be helpful to know whether there's another way to achieve it. Thanks.

Hi @TahmidBari
If you use dashboards, you can pin usage metrics to them. Alternatively, you can export the PBIX file containing usage metrics and integrate its data into other tables of the report to create the desired visualizations.

I don't believe we have any other options

Hi @TahmidBari
Yes you can use a usage metricks report if it is for the last month, for more information please refer to the link:

and this short video:

If you need older data, there is an audit log, please refer to the linked article with step by step-by-step tutorial :

Not sure if you mean to view the usage within the same report, but clicking on this option will generate a new report (separately) that you can view.
