Hi All,
I have access to a sharepoint folder and I am able to load all the files from the folder using 'SharePoint Folder' connector in Power BI.
I want to know if we can load all the files from the same folder using 'Web' connector. I know we can be able to load a single excel file, wanted to know if we can load all files from a folder. If yes, is there any link or list of steps that needs to be followed to get the files.
Thank you.
If the files all have the same structure, then yes, you can load them all at once using the SharePoint folder connector. Filter on the "Path" column to select only the folder you want to pull after connecting at the site level, then use the double-arrow icon in the the Content column header to expand all the files in one query.
If all of the files have a different structure, then you'd have to connect to them individually.
Can we load all the files from a folder using 'Web' connector?
It's probably technically possible, but not realistically feasible. To do that, you'd have to essentially run the same API query that the SP Folder connector is using on the back end and feed it credentials through parameters - there's no reason to go through that trouble when the SP folder connector works fine.
