Tips and tricks for Power BI map visualizations
Power BI uses Bing's unstructured URL template service to get the latitude and longitude coordinates based on a set of address values for any country. If your data doesn't contain enough location data, add those columns and categorize them appropriately. I clicked on the link https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/bingmaps/rest-services/locations/find-a-location-by-address and i am not able to follow how Power BI finds location by address . Is there any example/Tutorial that shows how to extract latitude and longitude coordinates based on a given address value. Someone please advice

Hi, Anonymous
If you are referring to using the Bing Maps API to look up an address based on a latitude and longitude or use a street address to find a latitude and longitude for the location, please check if the tutorial below could help.

Thanks for the link. I went through it but not sure how he developed the URL and the custom column formula. It would help if that can be explained. Thanks
