Time intelligence with half-hourly data

I have several years of data collected at half-hourly intervals. I wish to compare (for example) all the half-hourly data for January 1st 2018 with January 1st 2017 in a graph, overlaying one day's data over the other, at the half-hour level, i.e. not summed for the day.

The two dates need not be infinitely variable with respect to each other - sticking to this year / last year would be OK.

I haven't been able to do this with time intelligence functions as this can only drill down to Date level.

I would welcome any suggestions.

Thanks

      Sample data below:

      Interval EndEnergy kWh
      Thu 01 Jan 2015 00:30212.93
      Thu 01 Jan 2015 01:00219.30
      Thu 01 Jan 2015 01:30204.80
      Thu 01 Jan 2015 02:00204.86
      Thu 01 Jan 2015 02:30203.87
      Thu 01 Jan 2015 03:00203.74
      Thu 01 Jan 2015 03:30199.17
      Thu 01 Jan 2015 04:00183.71
      Thu 01 Jan 2015 04:30182.40
      Thu 01 Jan 2015 05:00190.02
      Thu 01 Jan 2015 05:30225.92
      Thu 01 Jan 2015 06:00251.01
      Thu 01 Jan 2015 06:30272.35
      Thu 01 Jan 2015 07:00276.90
      Thu 01 Jan 2015 07:30252.19
      Thu 01 Jan 2015 08:00246.66

Ideally I would like to compare the individual data points (i.e. not summed) across time periods, e.g. Jan-2018 with Jan-2017, or week1-2017 with week1-2018, etc, etc.
