Time axis: Complete timeline instead of existing data points

CPL,

Firstly, I am unable to reproduce your issue that relative filter doesn't filter visuals. Could you please share dummy data of your table so that I can test?

Secondly, do you use Timeline slicer and built-in slicer? Do you select data range in built-in date slicer, then use the slicer to filter values in Timeline? If so, I am unable to reproduce this issue, please post screenshots.

Thirdly, you would need to create a hour column in your table, then drag the hour and date columns into X-Axis of chart.

When show itmes with no data is selected, the slicer does only remove bars from the chart but does not cut the chart / zoom in. When it's not selected, the chart illustrates only the timespan selected in the filter. The problem for me is that, when I zoom down to days or even hours, you have to scroll hours just to get to the relevant data.

      CPL,

      What do you mean "when I zoom down to days or even hours, you have to scroll hours just to get to the relevant data.  "? In your PBIX file, I note that you only have date type field, you don't have time part in the date field, in the chart, you are only able to drill down to Day unless you add Hour field to X-Axis.

        Thanks. Let me describe in other words. When you look into my file, you see two visuals (one with show items with no data activated and one without) and one slicer.

        When I use the slicer, it cuts off relevant parts of the visual where show items with no data is not activated.
        However, it does only fade out data in the chart where show items with no data is activated, and not adjust / cut off the timeline. So I cannot use the slicer to zoom into a specific time range. This is especially bothersome if I have granular time data such as time stamps on hour basis across a whole year, as I have to scroll in the visual to get to the point in time I want, instead of using the slicer.

        Does this make sense?
