Tile slicer - Disappering search box

Hi everyone,

Here's the issue I'm experiencing with the tile slicer both in the Desktop app and when published to Service.

The search box is on and looks something like this:

However, when I start typing and no values match, the search box disappears entirely, so I can't even erase what I've entered. It ends up looking completely blank, and the only way to fix this in Service is to hit the "Reset filters" button.

This slicer worked just fine in the past when it was still a "new slicer", not a "tile slicer", so I'm thinking maybe this is a recent bug.

Any ideas or suggestions are much appreciated.

Thank you!

Hi @irynad

Some users have already opened a support ticket with Microsoft regarding this issue. The MS Product team has identified the issue as a bug and is working to correct.  The current estimated completion date is January 10th, 2025.

As a workaround, you can do this to appear the search box.

  1. Click … on the top right corner of the visual object and uncheck the Search function.

  2. Reclick the  on the top right corner of the visual object and reopen the search box.

Hello,
Could you expand on what it is you are typing in the search box? And, to confirm, this is a search box within the slicer, right?

In this case, I was typing in "Ja" for "Japan". Since it's not in the list, no filter options would be returned, but the search box should still be visible (along with whatever I've entered) so that I can fix it. Instead, the entire search box disappears completely.

Yes, it's the Search feature within the slicer.

The desired behavior is as with the regular slicer when it says "No results found" along with the search box:
