    Hi DougHood 
    I don't think there is a solution for the first question. Regarding the number next to the bar, you just need to create two measures for each category: one to design as a bar without a number and the other to produce only a number without a bar:

Hello,

 

Please try this and see if it works.

You can customize the position of data labels in bar charts. 

Here’s how to adjust the placement:

Select the Bar Chart you want to customize.

Go to the Format pane (paint roller icon).

Expand the Data labels section.

Set the Position to Outside End to place labels outside the columns. You can adjust this setting to ensure labels are positioned as needed.
