Thoughts on organizing Transform files in Power Query?

I pull in a lot of data from external sources that don't have Power BI connectors and save the daily reports in folders.  I use the Folder connector to pull in the data which results in a lot of Transform File queries.  They are pretty messy and I'd like to be able to organize them better - even to be able to put all of them into a main Transform File group.  Unfortunately, I can't do that.

Any thoughts on how to organize these better?  Also, is there a way to make them default to a "collapse" view instead of the auto view being "expand"?  When I go into Power Query, all I see is expanded Transform File folders.  I know it's petty but geez.

Unfortunately, these aren't from importing Excel spreadsheets but folders with multiple csv files.  The Excel spreadsheets that I bring in come in fine.

Substitute CSV.Document instead of Excel.workbook in the video. Works just as well.

  • This is the view I have when I go into Power Query without going through and collapsing everything.

Unfortunately, none of the responses have addressed the issue.  I pull in data from multiple sources - folders with reports from Apple in one format, folders with reports from Google in another format.  CSVs from ChartMogul and pulling in files from Vertica among other sources.

I would like to be able to move the "Transform file" folders all into one folder to get them out of the way but it won't let me do that.  Alternatively, I'd like to at least have them default to a "collapse" state so they don't take up as much room but haven't found a way to do that either.  Maybe it's just not something that has been addressed yet.

Did you ever get any ideas for this? I have a lot of transform file folders from combining .txt files from a folder and it's really annoying to collapse each one to get them out of the way.
