Thoughts on multiple data models for dashboard

I want to create a dashboard of disparate data. Would it be acceptable to have multiple data models in one workbook or is there another way to combine disparate data into a dashboard.

Hi @johnchill,

Of course, we can load dataset from different data sources as multiple data models into Power BI desktop. You can then combine and manage them in Power Query or in Report View.

But what do you mean "have multiple data models in one workbook"? What does the workbook refer to here?

Thank you for your reply. For example, we want to have an exective dashboard which contains data from our financial system, from our HR system, from our course management system, etc. We already have a .pbix for each of these. The question is 'do I have to recreate each of these data models with relationships, calculated columns, measures, etc, in a new .pbix in order to present the data on a dashboard? The data in each of the systems is not relatable to the other systems, so in essence, there would be multiple data models in one .pbix.

Thanks again!
