This Year vs Last Year: Help with Time Intelligence Functions

Hi,

I am new to Time Intelligence Functions and I need to create a financial dashboard with dynamic This year vs last year sales data. I have been able to find This year numbers but i am unable to find Last Year numbers. I have used the following functions but i get a blank colun with these:

1. Dateadd
2. Sameperiodlast year
3. Next Year
4. Parallelperiod
5. Datebetween
6. And a few more combinations using max, etc. 

The syntax of all functions is right but I am not getting any/right values.

Can anyone please help? Also, if anyone can tell me how to attach files, i can share my dataset and pbix files as well
