The type initialized for 'Microsoft.analysis's.Client.cyberspaces' threw an exception
When trying to Import Data from the cube, I get an the error message:
The type initializer for 'Microsoft.AnalysisServices.AdomdClient.NamespacesMgr' threw an exception. I can choose the Live Data option and that works fine, but when I choose Import Data, it gives that error.

Seems it was an issue with only his local profile. I changed user's on the computer and it worked fine. I went into the profile that had the issue, and removed his PowerBI desktop folder in the user profile (APPDATA\local\microsoft\PowerBI Desktop) and restarted PowerBI and it is now working. Something must have gotten corrupted.

Hi redneckscooter,
I just tested connecting to SSAS using import and connect live, both of the connection works.
AdomdClient is used for connecting Analysis Services multidimensional data sources. By the way, what is your SQL server version ?
Please also take a look to see if there are any events logged in SQL server side.
Restart Power BI desktop to check this out, or doing a repair install of Power BI desktop.
Regards
