The new relationship view keeps forgetting my changes

I've had a really annoying issue with the new relationship view ("Model" view) in Power BI Desktop since the March 2019 update.

When new tables are added to the model, they don't always appear in a logical place. That's fine, I move them around so that they sit in the right place, e.g. top-to-bottom for a hierarchy or in a star schema layout.

However, when I exit the .pbix file and re-open it, the tables are back where they were. It's super-annoying because it makes my model difficult to read. Why is the model view forgetting the changes I make to the layout of the page?

      Hi,

       

      This only affects models built pre-March 2019, not newly-created models. It does affect ALL of my older reports.

        That thread contains no solutions. It just showcases the fact that numerous people are experiencing the same issue and Microsoft are doing nothing about it.
