Hi,
I was trying to change a data source for my report in Power BI desktop. I wanted to replace excel file A with excel file B. The headers in excel file B is exactly the same as in A, it's just that B has more up-to-date data than A.
What I did was clicking om 'Transform data' -> Data source settings -> selected excel file A then change source -> close. Then a bar showed up saying 'There are pending changes in your queries that haven't been applied'. I clicked 'Apply changes' and a message popped up (see below). Can someone tell me what this message means and how I resolve this issue please? Thank you!!
Solved! Go to Solution.
Keep the names of the old and new file same, it should resolve your problem.

@Anonymous maybe in the new excel file you don't have the same sheet or table you connected to when used the original file. go to the navigation step and change the sheet or make sure the new excel file has the same sheet name as your original file. it is also case sensitive.
