'The distribution cannot be computed for the currently selected column' error

Hi,  Trying to do data profiling using the  Power Query editor > View > Column Profile  and getting the 'The distribution cannot be computed for the currently selected column' error.

It seems that all the column data is like this.  The dataset is sourced from Sharepoint Lists.

Note also that the  Column Distribution  setting when checked is the same.  ie a blank are with no graphs etc

What could be the issue.  Even for simple columns like Id  show [Valid 100%, Error 0%, Empty 0%] results in Column Quality.  Column Quality is the only setting giving results.

Thanks

Gary

@garythomannCoGC , check the data type of the column, if it is any type, change it to number to text and try

Even so, why do other columns do the same and not show the full profiling?  For example a simple Yes / No column.  Defined as Text with no errors and no empty values should still 'profile'.  Right?

I suppose the real question for me, is why does the data profiling not work for all columns in this particular table?

There are values there in all the columns.  There are no reported errors in each of the columns  (Error 0%) .

Posted question again but with screenshots.

'The distribution cannot be computed for the currently selected column' error (2)

@amitchandak, thank you for your reply.  And yes Id and every other column in this table is defined as data type of text!   Well that explains why 🙂

Checked a number of other tables within the dataset and same story for PK's and FK's.  All defined as data type text.  Unfortunately I do not have rights to the dataset creation process yet.
