The FORECAST button on the Analytics Pane of for a simple Line Chart is missing.

Good Evening to all my fellow Power BI Community members,

As per the Latest July 2024 Power BI Update, the FORECAST button on the Analytics Pane of for a simple Line Chart is completely missing. Need it rather Urgently to forecast a very simple dataset of Dates and their Sales. The Forecast button by default always used to sit on the Analytics pane but ever since I updated my PBI Desktop I am unable in locating it.

My Power BI Version Details : 2.131.1203.0 64-bit (July 2024)

Sincerely request my community colleagues for help.

Thank you so much,

Anirban Datta.

Hi @Anirban_Datta
The forecast feature works only with a continuous x-axis:

Modify the axis type and it should work.

Note that the data type of x-axis should be date / number

Hi @Anirban_Datta
You can have a continuous X-axis only with dates/numbers values.
So, you need to put a date and not a date hierarchy to use this feature.

Thanks indeed a lot for the swift response Rita.
I am a novice in Power BI so I do appreaciate your kind patience from the very get go. I'd like to trust that your recommended solution works but unfortunately the very option of changing the X Axis Type in my PBI Report is unavailable. Request you to refer to the attatched image 👇.

The data is the most basic simple one from the default PBI sample dataset with only a Date Calendar Table called dDate & a measure of Total Sales created, that's it really.

I thank you so much in advance yet again for bearing with me,
- Anirban.
