Issue has been solved. I installed now the version again from the Microsoft Store and everything works again. See also communication on the Power BI Status page:
Thanks for the reply from EvelynV, GMS1, sanjyot_firke and calmalone , please allow me to provide another insight:
Hi, Starriver
We have seen on the internal platform that other engineers have reported this issue and submitted it.
The engineers on the product team are now aware and will do their best to resolve the issue. I will update here if there is any progress, so please be patient.
As mentioned, customers using the Windows Store version (2.132.1053.0) may encounter issues when connecting to data sources with an ODBC driver.
The current alternatives are as follows, and you can operate according to your needs:
If your desktop version has been updated to this version, please uninstall the Microsoft Store version (2.132.1053.0) and then download and install the correct version of Power BI Desktop (2.132.1053.0) from the official Microsoft Download Center.
Download Microsoft Power BI Desktop from Official Microsoft Download Center
Thanks for your understanding.
Best Regards,
Leroy Lu
Hi v-linyulu-msft
Thank you for your prompt response and for addressing the current issue. I hope it will be resolved successfully and we can return to normal operations š
I have a concern regarding your suggestion to download Power BI Desktop from the Download Center instead of using the version from the Windows Store. Currently at the moment all 20 of my dashboards depend on this Windows Store application, and Iām worried about the potential impacts on my reports, semantic models, RLS, subscriptions, and app functionality if I switch to the downloaded version š
Additionally, if I make this change and the issue with the Windows App is resolved shortly afterward, I would face the challenge of reverting back to the Windows Store version šš
I would greatly appreciate your assistance / or anyone reading this and your insights on this matter.
Thanks!
