Dear all,
I implemented a database with a search function (visual: Text search slicer). I want to search for international authors of the articles, some of them have special characters in their names (e.g., ö. ü...). Problem - if you don't put the special character itselft, the paper is not searchable.
Does anyone of you have a solution?
To visualize the problem, i want to find "Rösch" by searching Rösch or Rosch. So far Rosch is not searchable:

In Power BI, you can use the M language in the query editor to create a new column that doesn't contain special characters, which can be achieved by replacing the special characters with their counterparts.
Functions for text search in Power BI aren't case-sensitive, but accent-sensitive. This means that "Rösch" and "Rosch" are considered different strings. Maybe the following link will help you:
