Text box being overlaid with format options

Modifying an existing Text Box, it is overlaid by the Text properties options, font, font size, bold, colour etc. Text box sits at 0,0, is full canvas width, the properties sit over the text I am trying to modify. Am on the September 2020 level.

 The only way around is to shrink its width and extend its height, amend the text and then return it to its original size via the General formatting options.

Any ideas on the cause or a method of prevention would be most welcome

Not Sure, For me the format box is showing on top of Text Box. Can you elaborate a bit more.

In the first, top, image, the text options sits on the text I am trying to modify. It cannot be moved and whenever I move the text box the options remain in the same position, overlaying the text.

In the second, lower, image, I have made the text box narrower but taller/deeper, and now the options sit to one side, no longer overlaying the text area.  Meaning I can see the text and modify as necessary.

The image you have shown is what a colleague experiences, but we cannot find what the difference in options or setup is that is causing the overlay in my text box.

Try turn off the smart narrative visual option for now, some people have met that issue with this preview feature.
