Template files using parameters from a query

    As you mention this is likely a timing issue. What you would need is a multistep process where the template asks for some credentials, runs a couple queries, and then asks for more credentials based on the choices the user made in the first step.

     

    My understanding is that currently templates do not support multi step processes. If this is important to you please consider voting for an existing idea or raising a new one at https://ideas.powerbi.com

Thanks lbendlin, that is what I figured but thought I'd ask just in case. I don't think this is important enough for our company that I'd submit an idea, but I'll keep it in mind.
