Target selection removes content from other nodes

I have a multi level sankey diagram showing the flow of students between majors over time. I have nodes (GRAD and DROP) representing students who have graduated or dropped out. We also have a FUTR node each level for each level of the diagram that is stored in the places that would be in the future of a students journey. The problem is when I select FUTR in the target filter, it removes all the outgoing flow from some of the GRAD and DROP nodes. I don't understand how that is even possible and if anyone has any insight that would be a big help. Images are attached for reference. FUTR selected in targetFUTR not selected in target

    Hi  Anonymous ,

According to your description, the filter selects FUTR and some data disappears, you can check if there is no FUTR tag in those parts of the data, so only the data with FUTR tag will be shown after selection.

Review the data model and relationships to ensure that the relationships between the data model and tables are configured correctly. Misconfigured relationships can sometimes lead to unexpected filtering behavior.

You said "it removes all the outgoing flow from some of the GRAD and DROP nodes" in which part of the picture.

Can you share sample data and sample output in table format? Or a sample pbix after removing sensitive data. We can better understand the problem and help you.
