Tabular Editor Error 401

Hi

 

I am trying to add perspectives to a report where it is in a separate file from the model.

 

When I try to open Tabular Editor from the External tools ribbon, the following error message is displayed:

"Error connecting to database - The remote server returned an error:(401) Unauthorized"

 

 

This issue does not appear in reports where it is in the same file/pbix as the model.

 

 

Please advise

      Yes , its a power bi data model which I'm unable to connect

      The Thing is I've bunch of measures sitting in the Thin report which I want to bring it to the model.

       

      The people who worked earlier on the report didn't do the stuff in an efficient way which I'm trying to do it correctly which is having all the measures in the model.

       

      So wondering if there is any way I can bring the measures sitting in a couple of thin reports to the model.

       

      Please advise.

      Hi Anonymous , sorry but none of them worked.

       

      For some reason the tabular editor is unable to connect the power bi live dataset.

       

      I'm assuming it doesn't support live power bi dataset.

       

      But any help or alternative ways to copy measures from one report connected to power bi live dataset to other report would be appreciable.

    Did you ever find a solution? We have started using TE3 and I recall being able to connect to a thin report. Maybe I am wrong. Can you clarify if it's just the model datasets that we can connect to?
