Syncing slicers

Dear all

I have a calender table with dates, Financial Year, Month (MMM-YY) and Month (MMM) formats.

I have 4 Financial years and respective MMM-YY and MMM

I have created two slicers - 1. with Month(MMM-YY) and 2. with (MMM).

I want to sync both the slicers through "sync slicers" option but I am not able to.

If I create both the slicers with same column like (MMM-YY) it is syncing.

But if I use two diff columns from the same cal table, it is not syncing.

Is it possibe to achieve this?  Pls guide.  Thanks.

Hi @Thulasiram

You are right that the synchronous slicer function in Power BI usually requires the slicer to be based on the same column.

Unfortunately, there is no direct shortcut to synchronize slicers based on different columns, even if they come from the same table.

However, you can achieve similar functionality with a workaround. You can create a new calculation that combines the values from the different columns to be synchronized. Then, use this new column as a slicer.

Hi @Thulasiram

The sync slicer function only works if the slicer is based on the same column.

Hi @v-nuoc-msft ,

Thanks for reply and clarifying.  No shortcuts to make it work even if the columns are from the same table?  Just curious to know.  Thanks.
