Sync slicers with and without hierarchy

Hi everyone,

is there a way to sync a slicer with hierarchy (left) and a slicer with just the highest level of hierarchy (right)? Please note that the slicers are meant to be on two different pages.

When you select an element from the lowest level on the left slicer (here Currus MA-03), the selection in the right slicer should sync. In this case, on the right slicer, Rural should be selected automatically. The two slicers are already in the same Sync Slicer Group (advanced option).

Is there a way to make this work? Many thanks for any tipps.

Hi @unpm ,

You can try to create a bookmark to realize the requirement of "revert the filter on slicer/page 2".

Here are some samples:

Power BI - Reset Slicers with a Bookmark Button - Hat Full of Data

Clear All Slicers in Power BI; A Bookmark Story - RADACAD

Hi @unpm ,

If the data is from the same table for the two slicers, then the right slicer auto filters for the selected in the left filter provide Edit Interactions is not switch off between these slicers.

In case they are from different tables, a valid relationship should exist between the slicer columns for this to work

Hi @Thejeswar , the data is from the same table. I forgot to mention that the slicers should be on two different pages, therefore I am trying to use the advanced sync option to automatically sync the selection on the second slicer. Is this possible? Thanks for your help!

Hi @unpm ,

Yes, you can have the same 2 two slicers in both the pages.

Hide the slicers wherever necessary after syncing them.

In that way you can make it work.

Below is the sample .pbix file

Open the selection pane and sync slicers pane in the .pbix to understand how it is set

Thanks a lot for the sample file. I see that when you select e.g. Germany in the hierarchy slicer on page 1, the slicer on page 2 is filtered completely to Germany. What we would like to achieve is just the selection (tick) on Germany but still showing all other options. I was not able to make this work with two different slicers. With 2 identical slicers it was possible by putting both slicers in the same group in advanced options.

A workaround might be a button to revert the filter on slicer/page 2. Would appreciate any advice.

Best regards
