simple case. I have a ranking. The higher the number, the better. Suppose I
Value 1 = 7 >> should turn into the number 1
Value 2 = 5 >> should turn into the number 3
Another issue is, the numbers can be decimals. The max is unknown, hence the 7 can be a 10 as well. The numbers must be used as a y axis in a line chart.
I am not sure if this can be solved via measure, perhaps with a column?

I’m not quite sure about the requirements, figure that you’d like to generate the rank, the higher of the value, the better ranking.
And then use the ranking as Y-axis, the values as the X-axis.
Thus I created the sample with columns [Values] and add the measure:
Rank = RANKX(ALL(Table1),CALCULATE(MAX(Table1[Values])))
Result shown as below:
