Summing time values in d:hh:mm:ss format

Hi all,

I am relatively new to Power BI and need help with the following:

I have a dataset in Excel that shows me why a machine was malfunctioning. For each malfunction, I have the reason for malfunctioning ("Oorzaak"), a starting time ("Van"), an ending time ("Tot"), and the duration ("Duur"). See also the screenshot below.

Thanks to help on a previous topic I posted on this community forum (https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/Summing-time-values-in-a-table/m-p/2007934), I managed to produce a visual that aggregates the total malfunction time for each "Oorzaak" (as in a PivotTable in Excel). However, summing the durations ("Duur") for the above excerpt of my dataset would need to show a value of 24:54:31. However, PowerBI (understandably) shows me 00:54:31. Is there a possiblity to format the data in such a way that it shows either "1d 00:54:31" or "24:54:31"?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @NiekHacquebord,

Unfortablely, power bi data model table does not support duration types.
Currently, you can consider converting them to 'total seconds' mode and add a custom column to display the format duration text. (text value not able to aggregate with common math functions except 'count')

@NiekHacquebord Seems like you need Duration to Seconds converter and then Chelsie Eiden's Duration:
