Successful Refresh without data update - Power BI desktop and Power BI App

Hi Experts,

 

I have a problem on Power BI desktop: my data source is a SQL table that consumes X-60 days of data from another table (with a SQL query passed on SSIS), the refresh goes very well on the power BI desktop and in the App (cloud), but from the December 30, the refresh is done successfully but without update : the January 2021 data is not loaded, I am unable to fix the problem, I changed nothing in the model. I tried to change my request to take the beginning of January and load into new report: it works. but in my current Report which contains my work (dashboards), no update. Is there any option to check to allow the model be flexible for update or i should verify my Power BI desktop version?

    Hi ahmed_MEJRI ,

     

    What's on your report tab? Do you see visuals? If yes, then your data model tab is not loading data.

    Check in Query editor as well if there are any filters in the transaformation steps.

    Hi ahmed_MEJRI ,

     

    Can you check the following:

    1. Are there any date filters on your report?
    2. Are there any visual level, page level filters for date on your report?
    3. Are there any hard filters in Query editor for displaying data just till end of the year like 31st Dec 2020?

      Hi Pragati,

       

      I check the situation : no filters used related to date and to give you more details after my last refresh, we i see Data tab ( we have 3 tabs in power bi desktop : Report / Data / model)

      : no data showed. Really a big surprise for me

      the problem related to a parameter used before a containing a date value = 31/12/2020 I remove this parameter and now the refresh is done with updated data.

         Glad that you were able to resolve this.

        I was 100% sure some kind of filtering is going on therefore the data didn't get refreshed.
