Subtotal Text Values in Matrix

I have added text as values in a matrix.  I need to count (subtotal) the values in each column even though they are text values.  Since I've chosen "First" in order to trick it into accepting text as...

Thank you for the response. I would prefer not to have an extra column of subtotals- Is there any way to subtotal in number format directly below the text column?

    Hi Anonymous,

    Based on my test, I am afraid you could not achieve this feature currently, the content in the row text could not be modified, I still suggest you to use an extra column.
