I have added text as values in a matrix. I need to count (subtotal) the values in each column even though they are text values. Since I've chosen "First" in order to trick it into accepting text as values, it won't give me a numerial sub-total, only a text name in the sub-total line. How can I get a numerical subtotal with text values in a matrix? Is there a workaround or a measure? If not in a matrix, is there another visualization that will allow this? Also, is it possible to subtotal at the top of a column versus the bottom of the column?

The subtotal seems to be taking one of the descriptions and placing it there. How do I remove this. I either want it to say nothing or just say total in the subtotal spot on the description column
Hi @Anonymous,
Based on my test, you could use the Count function:
Hope it could help you.

Thank you for the response. I would prefer not to have an extra column of subtotals- Is there any way to subtotal in number format directly below the text column?
Hi @Anonymous,
Could you please tell me if your problem has been solved? If it is, could you please mark the helpful replies as Answered?

Hi @Anonymous,
Based on my test, I am afraid you could not achieve this feature currently, the content in the row text could not be modified, I still suggest you to use an extra column.
