Strictly equals gives out of memory error.

I am trying to bring up values that equal 0 in a simple table and not have blanks included so I am trying explicit equal (==), however the following code is coming up with out of memory error.

FredL_0-1619479793140.png

I tried the following code:

1. based on measure.

Required Qty =
IF(
([Total Qty] == 0)
,0
,([Total Qty])
)

2. or...

Required Qty =
IF(
CALCULATE(SUM(tablename[Quantity]) == 0)
,0
,CALCULATE(SUM(tablename[Quantity]))
)

Is this really an issue with my computers resources or am I doing or thinking this out wrong? Any assistance will be super helpful.

I figured it out and the var version works much faster.

Update..

I tried using a variable which no longer gives a memory error however its now not showing values of zero and I know they exist. This is based on another measure for [Total Qty] = sum(tablename[Quantity]):

Demand Qty =
VAR requiredqty = [Total Qty]
RETURN
IF(RequiredQty == 0,0,RequiredQty)

Anyone know what I am doing wrong?
