Storing Refreshed data

Hello

I am connecting to an API service to retrieve data via schedueled refresh - this will update the dashboard with the latest data.
I want to be able to store the data at the refresh date to compare month trends. 

I am wondering how i can store the data refreshed on a excel file (sharepoint) so as to not take up space in the environment.
I would then refresh the report from the excel file to inform the visials 
Or if there is another solution i am missing?
