Stored procedure call with date parameter from vertica datavbase

Hi Beautiful Minds,

I just have checked the compatibility with the microsoft database's stored procedures passing to the power bi desktop and then call them and use in front end.

Similar exercise can we call a stored procedure from Vertica database to the power bi desktop and call the stored procedure?

Thanks

Hi @sahubibhuti45 ,

Hope everything is going well.

Please follow these step:

  1. Install Vertica is ODBC driver. If not, you can download it from the Vertica website.

  1. - In Power BI Desktop, go to Get Data > More > Other > ODBC.

     - Select a DSN for the Vertica database or provide a connection string.

     - Select OK to establish the connection.

  1. - Once connected, you can execute the stored procedure by selecting it from the Navigator pane or by using the Advanced options to input a custom SQL query to call the stored procedure.

If your stored procedure requires a date parameter, your query might look like "CALL your_stored_procedure_name('2023-01-01');".
