I am pretty novice in power bi and attempting what I think is a challenging visualisation, my asset portfolio history
I have a table where I track all my asset investment (attached Ledger.xlsx)
From the Ledger.xlsx, I created 3 tables within powerbi,
1) using the stock symbol, I created stocklist table as a reference
2) using the stock symbol, I create a closing price of each stock I want to track
3) 3rd table is direct from ledge where transaction of all the stock are recorded
What I want to create is 2 visualisation
1) what is my current market value of all my asset (done)
2) historical market value of all my asset over time using closing price to determine the market value (this is where I am stuck)
could be wrong, I may have link the table incorrectly and DAX not written correctly.
To determine the asset market value, I am using a table visualisation, and the following columns
a) a running date (not just the day that my asset has a transaction) on a table visualisation,
b) Stock Symbol
c) Closing price of the stock
d) Cumulative units of the stock (any transaction will result to change in the cumulative units)
e) Market Value = closing price * cumulative units
I created 2 tab in the report trying to achieve the above.
Tab 1 can achieve a,b,c and
Tab 2 can achieve a.b.d but I am not able to get a,b,c,d
Please help
will later include capital gain history etc
