Start date slicer to return data greater than or equal to based off the month and year

Hello,

I have a request from an end user to add a start date slicer that will return data on or after the selected month and year. We've explored using the default date slicer and the custom slicer visual but at the end of the day, the end user much rather have a drop down.  Can someone please assist or point me in the right direction as to which DAX functions I need to use?
